Tom Holland shines in Apple TV’s new mini-series “The Crowded Room.” Set in New York City in the summer of ‘79 Danny (Holland) is arrested for a crime investigators aren’t convinced he committed. As the investigators try to get to the bottom of what really happened, the series takes a deep dive into Danny’s background to prove his innocence.

Danny grew up in a single-parent household with his mom Candy, played by Emmy Rossum. Candy later meets and marries Marlin Reid, played by Will Chase. Marlin’s presence changes the dynamic of their household and it wasn’t for the better. Danny’s toxic home environment has of course affected him emotionally. And his behavior changes make prosecutors believe he did commit this alleged crime. This psychological thriller has several twists and turns that will have viewers eagerly waiting for the next episode.

Many of you know Holland mostly for his role in the MCU as Spider Man but he hasn’t allowed himself to be typed cast as only a superhero. He has a few drama and thriller credits under his belt and now has added “The Crowded Room”.

“I am so happy that I get to explore this space, I feel very lucky and I can’t wait to see what people think of “The Crowded Room,”” said Holland.

Before Holland’s talents truly shine in this role, this series has been the most complex character I’ve seen him play.

“This is without a shadow of a doubt the hardest job I’ve ever had,” Holland said about portraying Danny. “It’s been a really really steep learning curve for me, I’m so glad I did because ultimately I’m very proud of the project.”

The different emotions Holland comes in and out of as Danny is fascinating to watch. We can’t wait to see Holland in more roles like this.

“The Crowded Room” starts streaming on June 9th on Apple TV+.
