This stage play portrays a fictional encounter with a hotel maid named Camae (Amanda Warren) and Nobel Peace Prize winner Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. (Jon Michael Hill) in room 306 at the Lorraine Motel in Memphis, Tennessee the night prior to his assassination in April of 1968.

The Mountaintop is directed by Patricia McGregor, who turns a sea of words into a playground of lyrical possibilities beautifully performed by Amanda Warren and Jon Michael Hill.
Camae and King flirt with ideas that shatter the stereotypes of their juxtaposed worlds. What do a civil rights leader and a maid at a two-star motel have in common?
What do they have to talk about? What will they do unsupervised? What are their non-negotiables? Who is Camae and why is she really there?

The uncompromising truth about their encounter will only be found out once The Mountaintop is witnessed on stage in this unforgettable theatrical production.
The Mountaintop is showing now through July 9, 2023, at The Geffen Playhouse located at 10886 Le Conte Avenue, Los Angeles, CA 90024. For tickets and information visit: GeffenPlayhouse.org
