According to Tiffany Haddish beignets and donut holes are one and the same.

The Girls Trip actress said as much during our hilarious interview for her new film Haunted Mansion. When asked where she’d take co-star Jamie Lee Curtis in New Orleans, where they shot the film, she listed off a slew of places including famed Cafe Du Monde for some … “donut holes”.

Curtis quickly corrected Haddish, explaining the difference between the two, but the 44-year-old comedian held firm.

“Donut holes are round, beignets are a strange shape, they are fried bread,” said Curtis before Haddish responded, “like a donut hole.”

Curtis and Haddish also opened up about playing characters with psychic powers and prepping for the role.

“I hired three different types of people. I got a reiki person, right? Got one of them clairvoyant psychic people or whatever, that read energy and all that. And then I went to like a medium, psychic, whatever, spent about $3,000 because I had questions,” said Haddish who plays a medium named Harriet. “I wanted  them to teach me their ways.”

Haddish also admitted to stealing tarot cards on set to perform readings for her castmates.

Meanwhile Curtis said she’s always been pretty intuitive and tapped into that energy to play Madame Leota.

“I am constantly aware of what’s going on around me and I’ve used it to my advantage many times in my life. I actually refer to it as my superpower,” revealed the Oscar winner.

Haunted Mansion, directed by Justin Simien, follows a mourning paranormal expert named Ben (LaKeith Stanfield), who’s summoned to a spooky New Orleans estate to help a widow (Rosario Dawson) drive out ghosts. The movie is filled with jokes and callbacks that Disney superfans will appreciate, but also grapples with weightier themes of family and grief.

Haunted Mansion is in theaters Friday.
