*Earlier this month, the University of Colorado announced the arrival of Pro Football Hall of Famer, Deion Sanders, as its next head coach. Sanders, in turn, said that he planned to bring other top-tier talent with him to revive a Buffaloes squad that finished 1-11 this season. It is coming to pass: Jackson State cornerback Travis Hunter has announced his plan to follow Sanders to Colorado.
The former No. 1 recruit made the announcement on his next destination on Wednesday, after revealing only two days earlier that he would be entering the transfer portal.
“I committed to Coach Prime at Jackson State when he was there and I want to honor my commitment and stay with him,” Hunter said on his YouTube channel.
Hunter added: “I felt like I learned a lot with him at Jackson State so I’m going to stick with him so I can continue to grind, continue to show love, continue to put the work in so I can get to the next level.”

Quarterback Shedeur Sanders, the son of Deion Sanders, has also joined Colorado, having also made his transfer decision official on Wednesday.
Hunter had at first committed to Florida State as a high school prospect, but he then moved his commitment to Jackson State. He was also considering Georgia before finally committing to Colorado, according to Rusty Mansell, 247Sports recruiting analyst. Given his speed and talent, he will likely play a similar role under Sanders in Colorado.
