The news of the tragic death of Augusta Osedion, known online as Austa XXO, has shocked fans of the Lagos influencer. In a devastating turn of events, her boyfriend, Benjamin Best, appeared to confess to her killing in a series of distraught Instagram posts.

A murder investigation is underway by the Ajah police department and the Lagos Police Command that confirmed the mutilated body of August Osedion was discovered in a pool of blood. The 21-year-old Nigerian influencer was found dead on July 12, allegedly at the hands of her boyfriend, Benjamin Best, also known as Killa Boi.
Austa and Benjamin had been dating for two years. Photos of the pair on social media presented a lavish lifestyle with private jets, high fashion and expensive trips to exotic locales.
The Lagos beauty, an undergraduate at Lead University, Ibadan, Oyo State, was last heard from when she told her mother she was going to her boyfriend’s house to settle an argument. However, communication with her mother abruptly ceased, leading to the concerned mother contacting the authorities to search for answers.
In a disturbing twist, Killa Boi took to Instagram on July 18 to post a series of self-incriminating messages on his Instagram story. He revealed that he “accidentally” stabbed Augusta during a heated argument and expressed deep remorse.

According to his confession, their disagreement on July 11 escalated when they met again the next day to reconcile, “It led into more argument and fight.” He claims to have fled the scene out of fear and grappled with suicidal thoughts since the incident.
Regarding the dismemberment of the influencer’s body, Killa Boi vehemently denies any claims of ritual involvement. He states that such narratives are false and “harmful” to him during this devastating time.
Adding to the complexity of the situation, it was revealed that Killa Boi had been arrested two years prior by the EFCC for internet fraud.
Since his confession went viral, Killa Boi has taken down all the posts from his Instagram account, leaving many questions unanswered. It remains unknown if the Lagos authorities have taken him into custody or if he is currently being questioned in connection with Augusta’s tragic death.
The victim’s mother has not yet made any public response to the situation.
