About the program
“At The App Accelerator, our mission is to make tech entrepreneurship accessible to everyone, regardless of their technical background. Many aspiring founders, particularly from underserved communities, struggle with the lack of technical skills needed to digitize their businesses, which stifles innovation and widens the wealth gap. This program is designed to bridge that gap by providing the right tools, resources, and support to empower anyone to become a successful app creator, offering a clear path from idea to execution,” said Amanda Spann, America’s Leading App Educator & Founder of The App Accelerator.
As an onboarding to tech entrepreneurship, the program strives to educate and train participants on the fundamentals of working with developers to build a product while exposing them to industry best practices and providing the tools and resources to execute. This program is run in a hybrid format, with weekly virtual sessions and occasional opportunities to engage in person.

The partnership
The partnership with the SRCE at Clark Atlanta University marks a significant expansion of The App Accelerator’s partner ecosystem, which currently includes successful programs both online and in the U.S. Virgin Islands in collaboration with the University of the Virgin Islands Research and Technology Park (RTPark). Building on their successes, the organization is excited to further extend their impact in collaboration with SRCE.
The Southeast Regional Center for Entrepreneurship (SRCE) is located at Clark Atlanta University (CAU) and is part of the HU-PNC National Center for Entrepreneurship. The initiative has a strategic mission to be a national resource for Black-owned businesses and entrepreneurship education at Historically Black Colleges & Universities (HBCUs) around the country. As the Southeast Regional hub of this broader National Program, SRCE serves as a significant resource for HBCUs and their surrounding communities in innovation, entrepreneurship, technology commercialization, and business growth.
“SRCE, as the Southeast hub of the HU-PNC National Center for Entrepreneurship, is pleased to partner with Amanda Spann to amplify the expertise that she brings to App Startup Founders. In doing so, we aim to bridge the technological divide by making innovative business practices accessible through workshops and seminars, that will ultimately increase the success of Black-owned businesses,” adds Dr. Silvanus J. Udoka, Dean of the Clark Atlanta University School of Business
