Famed Houston rapper Travis Scott was arrested in Miami early Thursday morning on charges of disorderly intoxication and trespassing following an altercation on a boat.

Miami Beach Police responded to reports of a disturbance at the Miami Beach Marina around 1:45 AM local time. According to the arrest report, officers observed Scott, born Jacques Bermon Webster, shouting at individuals on a yacht.

The report states that officers detected a strong alcohol odor on Scott’s breath. When instructed to leave the dock, Scott initially complied but then returned, attempting to board the yacht again. Police claim he ignored their commands, became “erratic,” and disturbed nearby residents with his shouting.

Scott’s attorney, Bradford Cohen, characterized the incident as a “misunderstanding” in a statement, emphasizing that no physical altercation occurred. He expressed gratitude to authorities for working towards a “swift and amicable resolution.”

The 33-year-old rapper, a 10-time Grammy nominee, is one of hip-hop’s biggest stars. His European tour is set to begin on June 28th in the Netherlands, with shows planned for London and Manchester in July.

This incident comes as Scott continues to face civil litigation related to the 2021 Astroworld festival tragedy at NRG Stadium, where 10 fans died in a crowd surge. While he didn’t face criminal charges for those deaths, civil cases alleging organizer fault are ongoing.

Scott’s recent achievements include his first UK number-one album, “Utopia,” released in 2023. The arrest occurred just months before his scheduled European tour, potentially complicating his international performance plans.
