*Uncle Luke’s brother Stanley Campbell intends to run for Florida Senate.
According to TheMessenger, Campbell is a renowned rocket scientist, navy pilot, and golf course owner. Now, he’s getting into politics by challenging former U.S. Rep. Debbie Mucarsel Powell for the Democratic nomination.
“Mr. Campbell’s personal story alone makes him one of the most compelling, formidable potential U.S. Senate candidates in the country,” said Kevin Cate, a top Florida Democratic strategist.
“If he’s able to complement that with good fundraising and organizing, all of the sudden Democrats might actually have a chance to take down Rick Scott,” Cate added.

In related news, Uncle Luke has teamed with Jermaine Dupri to executive produce a Freaknik documentary.
Hulu previously announced that the project titled “Freaknik: The Wildest Party Never Told” will chronicle the “rise and fall of a small Atlanta HBCU picnic that exploded into an influential street party and spotlighted ATL as a major cultural stage,” per Hulu’s description, as reported by Variety. “Can the magic of Freaknik be brought back 40 years later?”
Dupri and Uncle Luke will EP “Freaknik: The Wildest Party Never Told” along with showrunner Geraldine L. Porras and director P Frank Williams. Peter Bittenbender, Melissa Cooper for Mass Appeal, Eric Tomosunas for Swirl Films, Terry Ross, and Alex Avant. Nikki Byles and Jay Allen are reportedly producers of the project.
The first Freaknik picnic was held in Atlanta in the mid-’80s for students at Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCUs). The festival evolved in the 1990s into what it is known for today, including dance contests, concerts, parties, sporting events, rap sessions, and job fairs.
