Jonathan Majors’ lawyer has released a string of text messages from the woman said to be the alleged victim in the ongoing assault case. As previously reported, the incident took place over the weekend during a taxi ride in New York City. The legal team believes that the revelation of these messages will not only help prove Majors’ innocence, but also aid in alleviating doubt from public opinion.

Last Saturday night, the Creed III star was taken into custody after his partner claimed she was assaulted while the two were in a cab in the Chelsea neighborhood of Manhattan. Yesterday, additional details revealed that Majors was the one who actually called the police out of concern for the woman’s safety during a mental health incident. Many believe that this update was significant as it contradicted previous reports that he had law enforcement called on him. He has maintained his pleas of innocence and is committed to clearing his name of “any wrongdoing.”

In a statement shared with EBONY from Priya Chaudhry, Majors’ defense attorney, “Mr. Majors completely denies assaulting the woman. Around 11 a.m. on March 25, 2023, Jonathan Majors called 911 out of concern for the woman’s mental health. The police arrived with the paramedics, as is standard procedure, and arrested Mr. Majors due to an NYPD protocol requiring arrest in certain circumstances.”

Chaudhry continued, “On that same day, only 7 and 9 hours later, the woman sent text messages to Mr. Majors admitting that she was the one who used physical force against him. She also disavowed any allegations that he had done anything to her, and confirmed that Mr. Majors called 911 because of her mental condition. These are those messages, redacting the woman’s name for her privacy.”

Below is a screenshot shared with EBONY of the text messages sent to Majors from the woman in question.

We will continue to update this story as new details emerge.
