Director Gregory Wm. Branch and Playwright Ursula V. Battle present ‘Serenity House…’ stage play back to Baltimore.

Battle (Battle Stage Plays) does, and this holiday her “Serenity House: From Addiction to Deliverance” production will change even more lives. The very popular play stars Randy “Fruity” Roberts (The Choir Boyz), Pam Jackson (Serenity), and Charisse-Caldwell-Bowen.
Written by celebrity playwright Battle, directed by Dr. Gregory Wm. Branch, with music direction from Howard “Buddy” Lakins the “Serenity House” stage play delves into the societal problem of addictions.
“Serenity House” will be held this holiday Saturday/Sunday, December 16 & 17, 2023 at 3pmEST on Saturday and 4pmEST on Sunday at Redeemed Christian Church of God Mercy Court (529 Walker Avenue, Baltimore, MD 21212).
Back by demand the play, which was launched in 2017, is heart-wrenching, yet heart-warming, as it presents to the audience the impact of addiction. The holiday dates are part of the 2023-2024 “Serenity House” Tour.
The addiction problem “Serenity House” focuses on is the opioid epidemic, however, the addiction and special issues presented on stage can cross multiple platforms such as eating disorders, prescription drug abuse, domestic violence, incest, and child sex trafficking.

The production’s storyline centers around the journey six men and women – who are three months in recovery, take after arriving at the imaginary United in Victory Tabernacle on the Hill Freewill Catholic Baptist and Episcopal Church of God in Christ’s newly opened “Serenity House.”
Battle published the “Serenity House” From Addiction to Deliverance” book based on the award-winning screenplay, with a foreword by Dr. Branch (www.UrsulaVBattle.com). There is also a DVD of the stage play from 2021 when it starred Dove Award-nominated Shirley Murdock (“As We Lay”).
