Vince Staples on How His New Show Embraces the Pillars of Black Television

Vince Staples reality comes to life in his new sitcom, The Vince Staples Show, where he serves as Executive Producer alongside Kenya Barris, known for producing `black·ish. Beyond his rap career, Vince has showcased his acting talents in the 2023 reboot of White Men Can’t Jump and in a recurring role on Abbott Elementary.

In this series, Vince invites viewers into his day-to-day life growing up in Long Beach, also known as “The Beach.” Across five episodes audiences witness the challenges he faces daily. 

Speaking with EBONY, Vince Staples discusses the significance of his show for Black voices in television and how he drew from personal experiences when developing the series.

The Vince Staple Show is available to stream on February 15th on Netflix.
