*A traveler hit up TikTok to post a video of a Black woman being weighed on a baggage scale before she could board the plane.
“The whole airport trying to mind their own business as a woman is asked to step on the baggage scale because she claimed she was 130lbs,” the TikTok user @lilwessel wrote in the caption, New York Post reports.
She added, “It’s a tiny plane so they needed our weight to take off for safety reasons.”
The five-second now-deleted clip showing the woman being weighed like luggage was posted in March. The footage was shot at an undisclosed airport and amassed 1.6 million views on TikTok, according to The Post.
Many social media accusers claim the airline discriminates against plus-size travelers, others sided with the airline.
One person, per The Post, commented, “Flying home from the Philippines and they weighed me … I have never been so embarrassed in my life.”
“They care about weight limits on small planes because they need to have the center weight in a certain part of the plane,” said another social media user, The Post reports.
