*Vice President Kamala Harris claims she and her mixed-race family celebrated Kwanzaa when she was a child — but Black social media ain’t buying it.

Harris posted a Kwanzaa celebration video on Dec. 26, in which she is seen sitting alongside her husband Dough Emhoff, and wishing Black American’s a happy Kwanzaa.

“Growing up, Kwanzaa was always a special time – we came together with generations of friends and family and neighbors,” Harris says in the video, MadameNoire reports. In case you need a reminder, Kamala’s mother is Indian and her father is Jamaican and she claims there were “never enough chairs” during the family’s Kwanzaa celebrations.

“There were never enough chairs, so my sister and I and the other children would often sit on the floor, and together we lit the candles of the kinara, and then the elders would talk about how Kwanzaa is a time to celebrate culture, community and family, and they, of course, taught us about the seven principles,” she says in the video below.

Social media users reacted to the clip with a side-eye — calling for Harris to provide receipts of her childhood Kwanzaa celebrations. Many called the video “performative”.

“Do you have any pics from past celebrations Kamala?!?! I’d love some inspiration!” one user wrote in the comment section of The Shade Room.

“She know damn well she ain’t celebrate Kwanzaa,” another person added.

“They will tell us anything for the Black Vote..We ain’t hear from this lady all year but it’s important she let us know they celebrated Kwanzaa,” another IG user wrote under The Shade Room’s video post.

Another person wrote, “Not trying to be funny…but I forgot she was out VP. I ain’t seen her since “We did it Joe” — to which another IG user commented, “Only time she comes out to laugh and look stupid.”
