Was Beyonce Throwing Shade At Erykah Badu or Lizzo?

One thing about Beyoncé, she keeps her ear to the street.

On Monday, Queen Bey brought her much-talked-about Renaissance tour to Gillette Stadium in Foxborough, Mass.

Beyoncé seemingly skips over Lizzo’s name during the Queens Remix performance of ‘Break My Soul’ tonight at the Renaissance World Tour.

She instead repeats Erykah Badu’s name four times.

In a fan video from the show, while performing “Break My Soul (The Queens Remix),” instead of hitting the usual lyrics, where she celebrates “Badu, Lizzo, Kelly Rowl,” Beyoncé changed it up to “Badu, Badu, Badu, Badu.” This had the internet wondering if she was applauding the R&B legend or shading her.

You may recall, on Sunday Badu made a comment about Beyonce wearing a stylish, metallic wide-brimmed hat at one of her other shows. Accompanied by a photo of the “Cuff It” singer, Badu wrote on her Instagram Stories, “Hmm. I guess I’m everyone’s stylist. My favorite chrome mirror hat.”

Beyonce did not directly respond to Badu’s shade leaving folks online to think her chanting Badu was her response. Others think it was her way of omitting Lizzo given her recent legal woes.

As previously reported, three of the “Juice” singer’s former dancers filed a lawsuit accusing her of creating a hostile work environment with body-shaming and sexual harassment.
