Former New York Jets wide receiver Randall Cobb is searching for a new home after a fire damaged his current residence. Cobb’s wife, Aiyda, revealed on Instagram that the blaze was caused by a faulty Tesla charger.
“We are lucky to be alive. The Tesla charger caught on fire in the garage late last night and quickly spread,” Aiyda posted on her story. “We got out of the house with nothing but the clothes on our back and no shoes on our feet.
“I’ll explain more later but posting this in case I miss any appts, calls, texts, meetings. Thank you GOD.”
At the time of publishing, it is unclear how many members of Cobb’s family were home during the fire. Cobb and his wife have three children, including a newborn, Chance Atlas, born in March.
Last season, Cobb underperformed in his debut season with the Jets, playing in eleven games and catching five passes for 39 yards and one touchdown, according to Daily Mail.
“First and foremost, we are all safe and healthy. We got out of the house and I was able to go back in and get our dog, Louie. We can’t thank Chief Caruthers, Captain Irvin and the Nashville Fire Department enough for their swift action,” Cobb wrote on Instagram.
