*Iconic series “The Game” is back for season 2 on its new home, Paramount+.
Reprising their roles as Tasha Mack and Malik Wright, Wendy Raquel Robinson and Hosea Chanchez give fans a rundown on what to expect from the upcoming second season, which will include continued storylines from season one.
“Our Executive Producer and Showrunner Devon Greggory has done a really good job,” Chanchez said. “One thing I wanted to do was make sure that we didn’t just drop things. Because sometimes in television you deal with an issue, or a really pressing issue in a community, then the next year or the next season there’s no mention of it. It’s almost like it vanished just out of thin air. Devon does a really good job at implementing these issues into the new season.”
Though there will be previous topics and issues from season one that make their way into season two, Chanchez says these issues won’t be at the “forefront.”

“Not necessarily making them what’s in the forefront,” Chanchez said. “But it’s the aftermath.”
Season one also saw Robinson’s character take her boss status to a whole other level with a private jet, becoming the owner of a school and club at the same time. As far as what’s next for Tasha Mack, Robinson said, “the sky is the limit.”
“She is definitely breaking through all glass ceilings,” Robinson said. “I want to say, you’ve gotta watch it, because where she goes and how she gets there, I want to say is very unexpected, but at the same time it makes so much sense.”
One thing for certain, as seen throughout the entire original series on the CW and BET, and last season on Paramount+, Tasha Mack’s roots remain family oriented.

“She’s all about family first at the end of the day,” Robinson said. “She’ll do anything that she can to maintain the closeness that I have with my son Malik and it’s cost her a lot. She’s lost- well you’ll see in the first few episodes. She loses it all and she’s on a constant journey to maintain her integrity and maintain who she is as a woman with or without her agency.
It’s important to note that “The Game” debuted back in 2006 and has been on and off the air ever since. Chanchez and Robinson don’t hold back expressing their gratitude for still playing these characters over 15 years later, agreeing that it’s a “big deal.”
“It’s unbelievable, honestly,” Chanchez said. “It’s something you can’t plan for as an actor. But it’s also something that just doesn’t happen as an artist. …Wendy and I actually got these jobs in 2005-06. So it’s really unbelievable and a huge, huge blessing to get to have multi-generations view you and your work.”

Wendy adds, “It’s been fantastic. When we first started back on the CW, Mara Brock Akil who created the show, she always called us “the little engine that could,” and that is what we are. I feel like that little engine still can. … It’s gone through so many reincarnations and re-imaginations and to still be a part of it and to still have relevant content, it just takes it to a whole other level. It’s humbling. I don’t know anyone other than “Law & Order,” that has done what we are doing.”
