*Wendy Williams’ ex-husband, Kevin Hunter Sr., is concerned that the upcoming Lifetime documentary about the beloved talk show host will negatively impact her legacy.
The documentary “Where is Wendy Williams?” chronicles Wendy’s comeback journey after her hit talk show was unexpectedly canceled.
Per the news release, the synopsis reads: The documentary provides a raw, honest and unfiltered reality of Wendy’s life after she was placed under financial guardianship, shedding light on the vulnerabilities that has turned Wendy into the Hot Topic herself. Suffering mental and physical issues, Wendy’s delicate state of mind, erratic behavior and declining health were all captured by the cameras. Where is Wendy Williams? is the story of Wendy’s journey to resurrect her career, and what filmmakers discovered along the way. But many questions remain – who truly has Wendy’s best interest at heart? Is she healthy now? And Where is Wendy Williams?
“Wendy has been part of the Lifetime family for over a decade and during that time, we partnered with Wendy for her revealing biopic and doc,” said Elaine Frontain Bryant, EVP and Head of Programming, A&E, Lifetime and LMN. “But her story is not finished. There is so much more to it. Nobody truly knew the depths of Wendy’s reality so we hope that what our cameras captured can help shine a light on what she is facing now.”
Executive producer Mark Ford called the doc “a complex project.”

Meanwhile, a Wendy insider told the U.S. Sun that her ex-husband and former manager feels blindsided by the project, stating, “He found the scene in the trailer showing Wendy yelling over a bottle of vodka and appearing disoriented in the middle of New York City were ‘very sad’ to see.”

“Kevin was shocked to see his ex-wife portrayed in such a negative light in the Lifetime trailer,” the insider added.
“He was also totally blindsided that their son, Kevin Jr, ended up signing onto the project after he initially said he wanted nothing to do with it.”
The tea spiller claims Wendy and Kevin Sr.’s son, Little Kev, “was repeatedly advised that it was a bad look to be involved in this project and that it was not in his best interest to have his name attached to it.”
The four-and-a-half-hour, two-night documentary will premiere on February 24 and 25 at 8pm ET/PT on Lifetime.
