Onu, founded by Lindsey Redd and Chine Ikoro, is a developer-first program designed to help engineers have a smoother workflow.

The platform – yet to be launched – allows engineers to quickly turn their ops/CV-related scripts and workflows into internal tools without requiring frontend work.

Redd and Ikoro are software engineers who met five years ago while working at Lyft and Stripe. The pair who are now YC founders started the initiative after experiencing first-hand how difficult it can be to operate in a fast-moving environment without internal tooling.

Companies like Stripe have developed a homegrown tool to help ease the workflow of engineers, allowing them to launch internal tools without writing frontend code.

Redd and Ikoro devised a plan to repurpose this tool to help other engineers through their platform, Onu. Both founders have joined Y Combinator‘s latest cohort, which invests $50,000 into startup businesses to help them get into the best possible shape.

“Onu is a developer-first tool that allows engineers to turn the repetitive scripts and workflows they’re asked to run for their ops or CX teammates into production-ready internal tools,” said Chine in an online statement.

“Onu doesn’t require any frontend work at all, so developers can spend their time writing business critical code instead of building or dragging/dropping frontend components.”

Through the platform, engineers can quickly spin up internal tools using the scripts already written. Additionally, users can see logs of each task’s previous executions and even onboard new users to their products and send them a welcome email.

Onu’s waitlist is currently open for early access, and users can even book some time with the founders to learn more about the platform.
